Not so long ago the first landline phones were released, these phones used finger dialling and they took the world by storm, people were able to communicate with people in other countries. But as everything these phones started to develop calls got a lot clearer and we could call overseas destinations for a lot less.

But suddenly the mobile phones were released and they caused a huge amount of industry buzz. Technology is developing so fast, we can now communicate with video calls on our cell phones. The calls are also getting a lot cheaper and you can get signal almost any where in the world.

So do we really need land line telephones anymore? I presume both yes and no is the answer for this query for quite a few reasons which we will now look at:
1) Initially businesses will always need land line telephones, they will need these to transfer calls, track calls and do a lot more. Although mobile phones are great I do not think they can be used for business reason.
2) On the other hand are landlines really useful in the home anymore? I mean cell phone calls are just getting cheaper and cheaper so why get a land line? The negative thing about landlines, especially if you are using a cordless phone is that you cant be too far away from the actual unit otherwise you will lose signal.

In the end only time will tell what is going to happen. Lets wait and see what occurs in the next few years.
